A trail-blazer for women in the field of sports coverage, Vic has kicked plenty of goals during her long and impressive television career – a career spanning news, sport and now lifestyle.
But this self-confessed ‘sports tragic’ is equally as passionate about people.
Vic credits meeting folk – from all walks of life – as the best thing about presenting for Queensland Weekender. She has the happy knack of putting everyone she encounters totally at ease – whether it’s a country publican or world-class athlete.
She’s also consummate organiser and juggler of multiple events – and well known for re-creating Queensland Weekender trips for friends and family.
Add sought-after MC; charity ambassador; and mother of three to the long list of Vic’s roles – and it’s easy to see why she’s earned the nickname ‘Cruise Director’!
What’s something people may not know about you?
“I can’t visit a country town without dropping into its old-fashioned Drapery – and making a purchase! In fact, it seems impossible for me to return from a work trip without a bag full of goodies bought from local producers. Makes me happy – but my credit card? Not so much!”
“My proudest moment on tour (and I still can’t believe it) was helping to muster- on horseback – several hundred head of cattle on a property out past the Isa.”
What place or image sums up Queensland for you?
“I actually adore the contrast Queensland offers – from a lifesaver on the beach at Straddie to a stockman in the yards in Longreach.”
